The abbot requests the return of a messuage which he had in London and which he granted to Cornhill for his life, but which after his death has been taken into the king's hand with his other land for debts that he owed the king.
Nature of endorsement
He should come before the barons of the Exchequer and he should be heard and justice done to him.

Note
The petition dates to c. 1295 as the detail of a bequest by Cornhill to his sister was enrolled on the records of the court of Husting, dating to 12 March 1295; evidently Cornhill was dead by then (Calendar of Wills proved and enrolled in the Court of Husting, London, AD. 1258-AD 1688., ed. R.R. Sharpe, Part I, AD.1258-AD. 1358 (London, 1889), p.119).
