Nature of request
Mongomery requests the delivery of his brother's armour which his brother demised to him and which has been taken into the king's hand with Philip's other goods, so that he cannot have delivery. He states that he is a valet-at-arms but has no service or master, and so needs this armour. He also requests that he be taken into the king's service.1)
Nature of endorsement
At the Exchequer.2) It is attested by the barons of the Exchequer that he is in debt to the king in 400 marks. Therefore nothing on this until the debt is acquitted.3) He has been answered ten times, and still he does not believe me!

The petition is dated to c. 1295 as the inquisition post mortem of Philip de Montgomery dates to June 23 Edw. I.
