Carleton and Hindringham request that the bailiffs of Yarmouth cause the arrested goods of Brabant to be appraised and delivered to them. John, Duke of Brabant, who had taken wool and merchandises from Hindringham and Carleton at Antwerp, bound himself, to them in £126 7s 8d and £53 10s 5d respectively. Upon their complaint at Parliament at Westminster at St John last [1302] the King ordered the sheriffs of Lincolnshire and Norfolk and the bailiffs of Boston and Yarmouth to arrest goods and merchandises of the people of Brabant to the value of the said sums, but still the duke has not paid them.

The petition dates to 1302-3, since in January 1303 the bailiffs of Great Yarmouth were ordered to appraise and deliver the arrested goods of Brabant in accordance with this petition (CCR 1302-7, p. 6).
