Nature of request
The Earl of Gloucester requests:1) that Penchester and his fellow justices be ordered not to proceed with the pleas to be determined before them at Maidstone on Wednesday after the Circumcision next touching the honour of Gloucester until the rolls and inquisitions have been fully examined;2) that the itinerant justices in Dorset be ordered that if it is pleaded before them that the Earl or his ancestors usurped or occupied anything concerning the King or his ancestors, that he be informed outside the pleas so that he has time to sufficiently answer to the King;3) that the sheriff of Hampshire be ordered to relax the distraint which he made on the Earl's tenants at Pennington and Harbridge.
