Nature of request
The abbot and convent of Colchester, who hold all their lands and possessions quit of all secular demands, request that their charters be allowed and that they be quit of such demands. The bailiffs and community of Colchester have demanded tax from them for their lands and possessions in the town.

The treasurer and barons should be ordered by writ of Chancery, having viewed the charters and called [the parties before them, to do justice].
