Description
Petitioners
Friars minor of Exeter.
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
The friars minor of Exeter request licence to enlarge their court by enclosing part of a way to the south and east, which should be sufficient since men rarely pass that way because of the stench from the neighbouring cesspool. They also request that Sechevile and Pyn or one of them, and Porta and Aleyn or one of them be appointed proctors for the negotiations because Rochester and Forinton, who the King appointed, have never even come to Exeter. Any of the knights named below can be inquisitors and arbiters with the sheriff, that is, St Albans, Cophin, Bikeleye, Nonaunte.
Nature of endorsement
For the friars minor of Exeter in which the King's writ is enclosed.
