- The prior of Chirbury requests that that the King inform his bailiff of Montgomery that the prior should be allowed to have his tithes as he does in times of peace. The abbot of Strata Marcella and his men came with horses and arms into the parish of Chirbury and took the prior's tithes. [Additional note added] It would be difficult for the prior and his men to fight with a house where there is established a convent of 140 monks, and the son of Sir Griffin and his power.
