Benedicta, who had the wardship and marriage of William, son of Philip de Cotes, from Robert, requests remedy because the sheriff of Wiltshire demanded £40 from her because of this wardship and said that William de Cotes the grandfather should have the said £40 for the keeping of the castle of Devises, and that she may have respite until the heir comes of age at Michaelmas in one year's time.

The petition dates to c. 1283. The King appointed two commissions of oyer and terminer, dated 1283 and 1285 respectively, into the persons who ejected William and Benedicta de Dun and the other executors of Lillebon's will from their custody of the land and heir of Philip de Cotes. In the latter reference William de Lillebon is referred to as William de Insula.
