Nature of request
1) [French] Thomas Wauding, heir of Richard Wauding, requests the bailiwick of the forestry of Staunton, late his father's, which was given to him in his minority by Henry III at Wythir's request, with Wythir holding the same until he came of age. The current King by his charter also granted him the bailiwick, and when the petitioner came of age he brought the charter to Tany to be put in seisin but Tany died before he could do so, since when Paunchefot has taken the bailiwick into the King's hand.2) [Latin] Copy of Henry III's letters patent written at Canterbury on 26 October in the 49th year of his reign [1265], granting the bailiwick to the petitioner.
