Nature of request
Aukes and Crosse request remedy, for themselves and all other merchants of Pinchbeck and Spalding which pertain to the Duchy of Lancaster, because from time immemorial they have had the profits of the common of South Fen but recently the abbot of Crowland has claimed the common as his own.
Nature of endorsement
On 14 October in the 12th year [1433] at Westminster the council agreed that a writ be directed to the abbot of Crowland to be before the council at Westminster on the morrow of All Saints next to answer.
