Nature of request
Campaigne requests that whereas there is a scarcity and dearth of wheat in the city of Bayonne and the surrounding country, that he be granted licence to load a ship called 'Sampe Martir' in the port of Bristol or elsewhere in Gloucestershire with 100 tuns of wheat to help the city of Bayonne resist the Spanish and other enemies.
Nature of endorsement
On 22 January in the 8th year [1407] the council agreed that letters under the great seal should be made in accordance with this petition, provided that surety can be found in Chancery that the wheat will only be transported to Bayonne and that due customs be paid to the King.
