Kyng, Fitkyn and White request remedy because they and their three ships were recently taken at sea by the King's enemies of Normandy and ransomed for a great sum of money, for which the petitioners pledged five of their men (Baynyng, Curtis, Whittopp, Bate and Silk), but before they had paid the ransom Titelot, Donnyng, Carter, Acklam and others took their ships, causing the enemies to take the hostages to Normandy, and Titelot, Donnyng, Carter and Acklam will not return their ships to them without a new ransom nor will they free the hostages from the enemies' hands.
