The Daniells and Pykesley request that whereas Fulbroke, Spicer and Haxton have sued them in Chancery for a certain sum which they allege that Spicer owes them for the ransom of an alien prisoner, which cause is still pending, that a writ of prohibition be directed to Roche, who claims to have cognisance in the matter, since his jurisdiction is confined to the sea coasts and they cannot answer in the same cause before different judges.

The petition dates to 1382 as do the other documents related to this case (SC 8/303/15136-8). In January 1383 a pardon was granted to Spicer, his heirs and tenants for the escape of Borman (CPR 1381-5::p.225).
