Burgeis and Blakeney request that whereas Blakeney loaded Burgeis's ship called 'la Marie' of Fobbing at Yarmouth for victualling Bordeaux and Bayonne, which ship was anchored safely and peaceably in the haven of Brest on January of the 48th year of the King's reign [1375] when Baker and Covenant maliciously cut and destroyed the cable anchoring the ship so that it and all its merchandises perished on the rocks of Brittany, to their damage of 2000 marks, that the barge of Yarmouth be arrested along with the bodies, goods and chattels of Baker and Covenant, and that they come before the King's council to answer to the petitioners for this trespass.
