Ayte requests remedy against Bolton, Darel, Malton, Rouclyf, Moryn and Darel who constantly distrain for vert and venison in Galtres Forest, preventing Ayte from performing his office. Bolton takes venison at will and, because he lives in the forest at Beningbrough, takes greenery and firewood for his household; Darel has also taken vert and venison at will as well as four fat stags which Ayte was saving for the King; Moryn takes numerous stags at will; Malton and Rouclyf have taken vert and venison at will with Bolton and Darel's permission.1)
Nature of endorsement
The office of the justiciar should be taken into the King's hand and justices assigned to enquire into the ministers of the forest as well as others.2) Neville should keep the office of the justiciar in the mean time.

Dated on the guard to c. 1331, with reference to CPR 1330-4, p. 200, a 1331 oyer and terminer touching trespasses of vert and venison in Galtres by the King's ministers including the petitioner and Rouclyf, and p. 265, a 1332 pardon to the petitioner for trespasses of vert and venison of which he was maliciously indicted before the keepers and ministers of Galtres.
