[Left half of petition missing] Hill requests that whereas Richard and John Treveyngnon, Respreve, Brothyn and Bille on 29 June last came ... and entered the manor of Fursdon, breaking the doors and windows, intending to kill the petitioner, and although his wife tried to defend him, they broke into his chamber, beat him and left him for dead, caused his wife to miscarry, stole gold, silver, charters and muniments and often lay in wait to kill the petitioner among other things, that the Duke of Gloucester and other lords of this Parliament [order] the said men to appear before them in this Parliament or in the King's council to find sufficient surety of peace towards the petitioner.
Nature of endorsement
Writs should be directed to the defendants named in the petition to appear before the chancellor in Chancery to answer to the matters contained within and to find surety of peace, considering that two of the defendants are justices of the peace in Cornwall.
