The Prior of Hexham requests that whereas the priory has been despoiled many times in the Scottish war and in relief they wish to appropriate the King's church of Alston of which they have the advowson, that Scrope will ask the chancellor or Bamburgh for a writ ad quod dampnum in this matter.
Nature of endorsement
He should have a writ ad quod dampnum returnable in Chancery, and when the inquisition is returned in Chancery, he may ask the King.
