Nature of request
Giffard requests a commission to arrest Woodham and bring him before the Queen and council as a rebel, because by colour of a commission he entered the manor of Bowers Gifford with force and arms and took two of Giffard's horses on which he mounted two of his more than 50 armed rebels to ride against the Queen and Duke in aid of le Despenser, and they were all in Despenser's company until he went overseas, and upon his return Woodham and all his men came to Giffard's house to kill him and his men, and when he could not find them he entered his warren and took hares and rabbits claiming Giffard was the King's and Despenser's enemy and of the Queen's faction. He also requests that a new constable be assigned.
