Stratton requests remedy because on Monday after the end of Easter in the King's fifth year [1277] Pycheford, Gumpiate, Wyengge and others came to Haunton in Caumvile's manor of Clifton and took a young steer and heifer and drove them to Tamworth, wherefore hue and cry was raised and suit made by which Gumpiate and Wyennge were taken and imprisoned, but not Pycheford; this should have been amended in the King's court or impleaded at Court Christian in Tamworth before the vicar of Shenstone, then dean of Tamworth, and then before Kilwardby, to Stratton's damage of £40.1)
