Nature of request
Bette requests remedy because Brunt, pretending to have title and right to his house in Crofton, entered his house on the Exaltation of the Cross in the 5th year of Henry V [1417] with twelve armed men and beat his wife and young children and ousted them from the house.
Nature of endorsement
It was agreed by the council that a writ under the great seal should be directed to Brunt ordering him to be before them on the morrow of All Souls next to answer etc. on pain of £40.
