Russell requests that he can charge two ships with cloth and wine and other merchandise by his attorneys or deputies and take them to Ireland and sell them there, returning with various fish to sell in England.

[The response is partly obscured by a repair].16 February, 6 [Henry V], it was agreed by the council that they make letters under the great seal to the petitioner according to the effect of the petition . . . taking the wine and merchandises to Ireland and not to other parts.

The petition dates to 1418 as the petition is dated in its dating clause to 16 February in the 6th year of the reign, and the petition is addressed to the bishop of Durham as chancellor so making this 6 Henry V. Although the bishop served as chancellor under Henry IV, he was not bishop when he served as chancellor in 6 Henry IV.
