Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition is dated to c. 1364-c. 1383 based on the known date range of the petitioner as master. As the individual complained of by the petitioner -Richard Clifford, was the petitioner's successor as master, it would perhaps seem likely that the petition dates to the latter end of this period (The Victoria History of the Counties of England: A History of the County of Leicestershire, vol. II (1954), pp.36-9).
