Thralkeld requests a remedy concerning the sum that he paid to Alaynby for the repair of Carlisle castle by the king's command as he used money from the farm of Savyers land which is now demanded from him in the Exchequer with other sums, Buckingham attempting to levy the sum.
Nature of endorsement
If it is found that he paid the sum for the works on the castle and the treasurer and barons are to make restitution to Buckingham and discharge the sheriff.

The petition is dated to c. 1356 as the petitioner served as sheriff until January 1355, and this petition seems likely to be soon after the end of this term. The reference to Buckingham as the former keeper of the Wardrobe dates the petition until after February 1357.
