Note
Thomas Arundel was Chancellor between 24 October 1386 and 4 May 1389 and between 27 September 1391 and 15 November 1396, and was Archbishop of York between 1388 (papal provision 3 April) and 25 September 1396, when he became Archbishop of Canterbury. This petition would seem to date from the second of these periods of office, as John of Gaunt became Duke of Aquitaine (Guyenne) on 2 March 1390.
