Nature of request
Laurence de Lagule states that before Christmas he came to Ipswich with his wines, and the bailiffs of Ipswich are demanding that he pay 6d in the pound for the sale of his wines, over and above the customary 2s to the King, and have arrested his goods for this. He requests a writ to the bailiffs to deliver his goods and not to obstruct him, provided that he pays the 2s and any other ancient customs which are due.
