The bailiffs and community of Shrewsbury complain of their attorneys, Thomas Pryde, Nicholas Gerard and Philip Biryton, stating that because of a great fire that burned down the church of St Chad and a great part of their town the King, on 28 December in his eighteenth year, granted to them that they would be quit of their fee farm for three years, so that they could repair their town, and also pardoned them the two half-tenths granted in the Winchester parliament, and that Thomas Pryde received the money due for the two half-tenths and £25 of the £90 for the farm, and is withholding it from them.
