Nature of request
Letter from William Haward, Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, to the Mayor of Cambridge, reciting a letter he has received from the keepers of the peace in Cambridgeshire asking him to arrest several people, indicted for a robbery committed against Richard de Welleford, merchant of London, and to hold them in the King's prison until they are delivered according to the law and custom of the realm, and asking the Mayor to put this into execution.

Note
William Houward was Sheriff between 11 August and 22 September 1328 (List of Sheriffs), which would fit with the dating of the related documents. The quoted letter is dated on the Tuesday before the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 2 Edward III (6 September 1328), which is entirely compatible with these dates.
