Nature of request
The petition requests four commissions;1) To William de Wynford and John de Elmebrugge to buy 200 heaps of plaster in Dorset, if it is ready, and if it is not ready by 1 March in the King's fiftieth year, to take the necessary workmen and carts to make and transport it, as well as ships to transport the plaster to London and Southampton.2) To Adam de Hertyngdon, according to the tenor of the commission he has for the works at Windsor, for the manor and park of Clarendon, with John de Rouceby as comptroller and under the oversight of Thomas Kenne; and likewise for the manor and park of King's Langley, with John de Rouceby as comptroller and under the oversight of Richard Parker.3) To John May to take workmen and materials for the works at King's Langley.4) To Thomas Harpecote to take workmen and materials for various works at Brockenhurst and Hatheburgh, in the New Forest and at Clarendon.

All the commissions in CPR 1374-7 pp.233-235 are dated 6 February 1376, and would seem to be in response to this petition. This is confirmed by the mention of 1 March 50 Edward III (1376). Hatheburgh was a hunting lodge in Lyndhurst Park in the New Forest (see 'History of the King's Works', II, p.984, esp. n.10 & n.14, & p.985).
