Nature of request
The Sire de Gommegnies states that Henry Lovetoft agreed to serve him in the war for a year with ten men at arms and twenty-four archers, and that he received a certain sum from him in part payment of his wages; but that he is now refusing to perform this service. He requests a writ of arrest to seize Henry's body and bring him before the council, to receive what they will ordain, notwithstanding any protection he may have.

Tentatively dated on the basis of references to the Sire de Gommegnies in CPR 1367-70 p.45 (nomination of attorneys, dated 12 January 1368) and p.74 (licence to cross overseas, dated 14 January 1368). The petition would seem likely to concern this expedition.
