The petitioner requests a writ to the Treasurer of Calais to pay John Tracy, customs officer of Calais, 12d a day for his wages for the time when he has been Customs officer, and also for the time when he will continue to occupy this office.A note adds that this was the daily wage for the office when Thomas de Brantyngham was Treasurer of Calais.

Note
William Wykeham, Bishop of Winchester, was Chancellor of England in 1367-71, while Brantingham was Treasurer of Calais between 1361 and 1368. This would suggest a date between 1368 and 1371, which would seem more likely from the handwriting than 1389-91, the other period when Wykeham was Chancellor.
