- William Wykeham, Bishop of Winchester, was Chancellor of England in 1367-71, while Brantingham was Treasurer of Calais between 1361 and 1368. This would suggest a date between 1368 and 1371, which would seem more likely from the handwriting than 1389-91, the other period when Wykeham was Chancellor.
