Nature of request
Hugh, son of Henry de Bechhampton, states that he brought a writ of mort d'ancestor before Robert de Retford and John de Mutford, justices of assize in Buckinghamshire, against Ralph le Bray, concerning three messuages and a virgate of land, and recovered two messuages and the virgate of land; but the third messuage was vouched and the assize delayed. He brought a new assize for the third messuage, but, because he did not have his old letters patent, the justices have sent him to prison. He asks that he might have another letter patent with the same date as his old writ, or such remedy as is most suitable for him.
