[This petition is damaged] Thomas le Whyte states that his wife, Eve la Bruth, is [imprisoned] at Salisbury at the suit of William Ailmer for a trespass committed against him. She has a [charter] of pardon from the King, with a writ to the Sheriff of Wiltshire to proclaim the King's peace . . . and no suit is made by William Ailmer or anyone else, but he cannot have her release. He asks that she might be released.
