Nature of request
The petitioners state that they were seised of two messuages and an acre of land in Tresithney, of which they were disseised by John Tregorek; they brought an assize of novel disseisin against John before Robert Tresylyan, formerly justice of assize in Cornwall, but while this assize was pending Robert purchased the tenements from John by champerty, and held them by force until he was attainted of treason. John Kentwode and William Horbury have now taken them into the King's hand because of Robert's forfeiture; they ask that they might be restored to them as the law demands.
