Nature of request
Thomas de Scoteneye states that the King has given him the manor of Tettenhall for term of life, but that the Sheriff of Staffordshire is nevertheless distraining the tenants of this manor for 40s. of annual rent for new assarts. He requests a writ to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer to discharge the Sheriff of this sum, and a writ to the Sheriff to cease demanding it.
