Nature of request
William Shounyn of Brentingby and Anneys his wife request a writ to the escheator to remove his hand from a messuage and a virgate of land in Brentingby, which they leased to Simon de Bereford for a year, and which were then taken into the King's hand with his lands through his forfeiture.
Nature of endorsement
A writ is to be sent to the escheator to inquire into the things contained in the petition, and when the inquisition has been returned in Chancery, justice is further to be done.

CCR 1333-7 pp.720-721 is dated 12 November 1336, and mentions this petition and a subsequent inquisition. The escheator was removed from office before he could act on this matter: SC 8/74/3679 is a later request for a similar writ to the new escheator.
