Description
Petitioners
Mabel de Bradeschagh (Bradshaw), widow of William de Bradeschagh (Bradshaw).
Name(s)
de Bradeschagh (Bradshaw), Mabel
Addressees
Chancellor.
Nature of request
Mabel, widow of William de Bradeschagh, requests a commission to Robert de Sonky, John de Ascheton and William de Worthinton, to arrest the men indicted for the death of her husband, who are currently at large, and to seize their goods for the King's benefit, as she does not dare to enter her country or to begin a law-suit while they are at large. She requests a commission to these men as they have the power to arrest the malefactors; as the Sheriff of Lancashire had a commission to arrest them and their goods, and replied that he could not find them and that they had few or no goods, whereas she is prepared to aver that they were in his company after he had the commission and that he could have taken 1000 marks worth of goods from them.
Nature of endorsement
This response to this petition is on another bill.
