Nature of request
The petitioner states that he had provision, acceptance and ratification to the prebend of Garthbrengy in the collegiate church of Abergwili, but that notwithstanding this, the Bishop of St David's made collation of the prebend to John Godemanston, and then, when John resigned it, to Edmund Warham. Now one Andrew Hore, with the assent of Edmund, has acquired the King's presentation, and has sued a quare impedit in Common Bench against the Bishop and Edmund; so that the King has recovered the prebend and Griffith is ousted; and Andrew is also suing him and his proctors notary in Common Bench by a writ based on the Statute of Provisors of the King's thirteenth year. Griffith asks the King to have Andrew come before him by a writ of scire facias, to the show the King's right and to receive what the court awards; and to grant a writ of supersedeas to the justices to halt the process in the meantime.
