Nature of request
Denton requests that he be paid £69 still owing to him from the £100 which he loaned to the King on 2 May in the fourteenth year of his reign [1340].
Nature of endorsement
A writ should be sent ordering the treasurer, barons and chamberlains of the Exchequer that the amount of his fine be allowed to him in the £69 which are in arrears and that they make him suitable assignment or payment for the remainder if they find that he did lend the said £100 to the King and the £69 is owed to him as the petition claims, and he should have a supersedeas to the sheriff.
