Nature of request
The Abbot of Thorney, whose abbey was enfeoffed by the King's progenitors, requests remedy because Edward I's approvers, assigned to arrent lands in the forest of Waebridge, arrented 30 acres of meadow in [Stanground] at 11s 6d yearly, when the land belongs to the abbey and is outside the forest, and that the arrentment be abolished.
Nature of endorsement
Suitable men should be assigned to enquire into the points mentioned, in the presence of the justice, his lieutenant or the steward of the forest, and also into the time, the number of acres, the value and all other necessary things. The inquisition should be returned in Chancery and justice done.
