Le Chapenter requests remedy:1) against Donsowe who on the first Wednesday in Lent 6 Edward I [1278] came to his house of Benthall and took 3 cows, half a quarter of wheat and an axe worth 32s, and on Monday after St Bartholomew in the same year removed him from his house in Benthall which he had held for three years of a four-year term;2) against Sort who kept one of his cows which le Chapenter had put in his keeping for three years on Sunday after All Saints, 12 Edward I [1284], but after the three years had passed, he would not return the cow.

Dated on the guard to c. 1284 since the petition refers to events that occurred in the 6th, 9th and 12th years of Edward I's reign. However, it may be an eyre plaint, and thus may possibly belong to the eyre held in Shropshire from 6 October-15 December 1292 (Crook, D., Records of the General Eyre, (1982), p.175).
