Vaghan requests remedy because after loading a ship at London with 20 sarplers of wool on Wednesday after St Lawrence in the seventh year of the King's reign [1314] and crossing overseas with other merchants, who also had their goods and merchandise in the ship, to the port of Gravelines, men of the Count of Flanders came on the Tuesday following their departure from London, attacked their ship, and robbed them of the said 20 sarplers of wool, and so the petitioner sued before the Count, demanding his own wool marked with his marks, and requested restitution, but the count detains the wool to his loss of £350.
