Nature of request
Rasen, Rasen, Hyrndale, le Taverner, Lefevere, Bouden, Waverton, le Mareschal, Rychemond, Raughton, Kamercen and D'Irlande, who have served the King in his wars in Flanders, Wales, Gascony and Scotland, request that the King grant them the freedom of his town of Dumfries because the burgesses of the town will not allow them to trade there because they are English.
Nature of endorsement
The King wills that those who can acquire burgages should do so by entering them as the Scots do, and the sheriffs of the boroughs of Scotland should be ordered to permit them to have this liberty.
