The petitioner, who is in the custody of the Bishop of St David's by the King's command, requests restitution of the moiety of the commote of Gwynionydd and of the gwestfa of Gwascarawg of which Rhys ap Maredudd had disseised him by suggestion made at the King's court, when the petitioner has not in any way acted against the King's peace.
Nature of endorsement
He should have a writ of Chancery that the seneschal of West Wales should give him his share.

Dated by Rees to c.1283, with reference to a related entry on the patent roll (CPR 1281-92, p.84). Rhys ap Maredudd appears to have gained lands from c. 1282, but was disinherited by Edward I in 1287 (R.R. Davies, 'The Age of Conquest', p.361).
