Nature of request
Writ of Edward III to Edward de Montacute, dated at Westminster on 1 June 1345, ordering him and his wife Alice to return the names of the attorneys appointed by them and John and Margaret de Segrave concerning their case for the restoration of the manor of Hamstead Marshall. The manor was part of the estate of the late Thomas, Earl of Norfolk, father of Alice and Margaret, and had been granted to the former Earl of Salisbury.

By virtue of having received this writ, William de Burgh, clerk, or Robert de Baunnebury, clerk, prosecution attorneys of John de Segrave and Margaret his wife, have replied as the writ requires.
