Nature of request
John and Margaret Segrave and Edward and Alice Mountagu request that the King order the chancellor to deliver to them the manor of Hamstead Marshall which Brotherton held of the gift of Edward II. Brotherton gave the manor to William, Earl of Salisbury for life or 15 years, whichever was longer, but upon his death the King's escheator seised the manor into the King's hand. The heirs have sued in Chancery for delivery of the manor but the chancellor will not comply.
