Nature of request
Haveryng requests that whereas he imprisoned by the King of France when he was seneschal of Gascony, where he remained for a long time until the merchants of Lucca found his expenses and procured his release, for which they want £297 13s. 4d., which money the King also wants for the debt which the merchants of Lucca owe him in the Exchequer, that the King will pardon him this debt. He also requests that the King order the treasurer to receive his account from the time he was keeper in Wales in right of his wages with arrears.1)
