Nature of request
Canaberiis, Gahinherii and other citizens of Bordeaux request that whereas they were prosecuted for the death of Viger by Ferrars, because of which they were oppressed by Frenchmen at the instigation of Viger's son, and the seneschal of Gascony and constable of Bordeaux were ordered to pay them all their expenses incurred by this action, but refuse to do so, and because the accused were afraid of being fined a large sum of money by the French, some have fled and others are ready to flee:1) that the seneschal of Gascony and constable of Bordeaux pay their fines;2) that the seneschal of Gascony be ordered to bring in the Lord of Albret or Viger's son and order him to cease, since Viger's son is certainly ruled by the Lord of Albret;3) that a letter on this matter be sent to the Lord of Albret, the Lord of Lesparre and Novelliano.1)
