Description
Petitioners
Abbot and convent of Vale Royal.
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
The abbot and convent of Vale Royal request remedy because although at the last Parliament at London before the King's last expedition to Scotland they petitioned for deliverance of £549 arrears of the county of Cheshire made by his assignment at Acton Burnell, to which it was answered that Grey's accounts of the forest of Cheshire should be brought and the arrears certified, nothing has been paid to them.1)
Nature of endorsement
Before the King.2) [deleted].3) Because all arrears of Cheshire were granted to the Prince of Wales, the treasurer is ordered to determine what the arrears amount to etc., and he should make allowance of the same to them where it seems best.

Note
Dated on the guard to c. 1305, with reference to CCR 1302-7, p. 247, an order to compensate the petitioners for the £549 still owing to them from the King's grant of £1000. This petition probably post-dates SC 8/279/13916, which could well be the petition mentioned in this petition.
