Nature of request
Haweton and his fellow jurors in a redisseisin taken before Wydevyll between the prior of St Andrew and Margaret Pilkington, who were put on that jury at the King's command and by coercion of law and judged as reason demanded, request that whereas Robert and Edmund Pilkington and others, armed and arrayed for war, lay in wait to kill the petitioners and beat and wounded Haweton and his wife as they were heading to church and have committed other horrible acts and assaults, leaving the petitioners fearing for their lives, that they may have several writs, one from each of them, to attach Robert, Edmund and their companions in Chancery to appear before the justices of the King's Bench to answer in this matter so that the justices can give judgment.
Nature of endorsement
It was ordered and agreed by the lords of Parliament that the plaintiffs should tax their damages at a certain amount, and this bill be delivered into Chancery, and the chancellor should have power to make writs of proclamation to be made in Northamptonshire at the next three county courts that the defendants should come before the chancellor on a certain day to answer on the trespasses contained in the bill.
