Nature of request
The men of Guernsey request that the Archbishop, having seen the commissions of the custody of the Channel Islands made by the King's father to la Roche and Norton, nominate them or others to the wardship of the Islands, because there are rumours that after their last removal from the keeping of the Islands, some people were killed by the Normans and many houses destroyed.
